Roman and Byzantine Empire - Take a look at one of the world's most powerful civilizations. In this unit we start with how Rome goes from a republic to an empire (similar to a dictatorship). We also learn about what is now known as the Byzantine Empire, which was a continuation of the Eastern Roman Empire after the fall of the West.
Asia - This unit focuses on the Mogul dynasty in India, the Sui through Ming dynasties in China, and the Tokugawa dynasty in Japan. Although these dynasties are all located in Asia, they have vastly different cultures, governments, and achievements.
Africa - Africa's geography is remarkably diverse. We will learn about the different climates and resources that allow for life to thrive in Africa. All major empires South of the Sahara Desert will be explored.
Medieval Times - Knights, castles, and vikings are among the topics covered in this unit about European history. From the fall of Rome to the Bubonic Plague we will see how bad the "dark ages" really were.
Renaissance - Before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, names like Leonardo and Michelangelo meant something different. This final unit focuses on European history after medieval times when life was improving. The reformation movements of the Christian Church will also be explored.
